today addie and i hit up the pool at her aunt's country club. it was SO HOT OUT. literally, as soon as we laid down and the sun came out from underneath the clouds shining in all of its yellow glory i was sweating. i had a little bit of a tan line on my shoulder you can see from when we were in San Fran walking along the piers for hours upon hours. but oh man it cannot even compare to the tan i got lying out at that pool today. the first two pictures are from the start, the third is my tan line after.
we thought we were going to get some reading done while we were out there, well that was a joke! because it was so hot all we could do (!) was lie down when we weren't in the water. HOT DAY.
if you can't see the difference in the tan picture tilt your screen back– lol, you'll see it. for just being out for a couple of hours that's pretty intense!
anyway, we're in now. looks like tonight will consist of cooking chicken and vegetables and rice and eating ice cream and watching movies (dirty dancing, anyone?). we got a little bit of research journaling and organizational stuff done; we'll hit the studies again on monday full speed.
ha! that 'intensity' is regular here. when you come and visit you'll see. i suppose that's why tanning has a reputation for being so boring. in places where the sun isn't as strong you have to stay out the whole day?! crazy.
